Park Eun-bin, who is now awestruck by her performance in Extraordinary Attorney Woo, revealed that she rejected the role numerous times prior to accepting it. The 29-year-old actress chatted with Allure Korea on June 24 about how and why she accepted the role.
Park Eun-bin began by disclosing that she concurrently received scripts for Extraordinary Attorney Woo and the 2021 blockbuster series The King’s Affection. She expressed doubt about her ability to portray an autistic person.
It was conceptualized at roughly the same time as The King’s Affection. It was a pleasure to work, but there was so much to do that I doubted my ability to complete it properly.
She had the courage to accept the role after observing the authors’ and filmmakers’ unwavering confidence in her.
Park Eun-bin, known for his role in Extraordinary Attorney Woo, discusses the role and The King’s Affection with Allure Korea.
Park Eun-bin began her career in the entertainment industry as a child actor. She first garnered prominence with the 2016 youth drama Hello, My Twenties!, but she won widespread popularity with her 2017 historical romance novel The King’s Affection.
The actress is now following up her success with Extraordinary Attorney Woo, another blockbuster drama. She addressed her initial doubts about the post in a recent interview with Allure Korea.
Park admitted that she exerted considerable effort to depict an autistic person accurately so as not to injure or offend anyone. She repeatedly declined the offer, but the show’s writers and producers believed in her. Unusually, the crew waited several months for the actress to join the production.
I was a bit concerned about my ability to complete the task without causing anyone harm or distress. Therefore, I declined repeatedly, but they waited for me. Because the writer and director had confidence in me, I mustered the courage to take the role.
Park Eun-bin was cast in Extraordinary Attorney Woo in October of 2012, just one month after completing filming on The King’s Affection. Unknown when the production of the serial drama began, it was temporarily halted in June after a crew member tested positive.
She stated, in reference to The King’s Affection, that she considered herself fortunate because, despite a frenzy of periodical releases, she was likely the only woman to play a Joseon Dynasty king.
“The King’s Affection” supplied me with a position I never could have dreamed of and enabled me to achieve whatever I desired. It was quite challenging, but what other woman my age would have had the opportunity to portray a Joseon Dynasty king?”
After portraying a King and a lover with skill, the 29-year-old actor now portrays a great lawyer in Extraordinary Attorney Woo.
