Park Joo-hyun, who is currently starring in the K-drama The Forbidden Marriage, previously had a romantic relationship with NCT’s Tae-yong.
To clear the air, her company, 935 Entertainment, issued an exclusive statement denying her romance with the NCT member:
“NCT’s Park Joo-hyun and Tae-yong are just friends.”
According to the label, the two met through online gaming, but they had no romantic feelings for one another. SM Entertainment, NCT’s company, also confirmed to Donga that the two are “just friends,” putting an end to the rumor mill.
The Park Joo-hyun/Tae-yong dating saga
On January 12, many rumors circulated that NCT leader Tae-yong and actress Park Joo-hyun were dating. Many assumed the two were dating because they frequently teamed up to play online games and the actress was seen watching NCT’s performance from a designated family cubicle.
However, the male singer’s agency, SM Entertainment, and Park Joo’s company, 935 Entertainment, have both denied the reports.
Furthermore, 935 Entertainment stated:
“Park Joo-hyun enjoys games so much that she posted a video on her YouTube channel about online games like League of Legends. She and Tae-yong of NCT are just friends who enjoy playing video games together. Park Joo-hyun is an extremely sociable person with an extroverted attitude, so she has a large network of friends.”
The majority of NCT fans did not believe the allegations for a variety of reasons, including the Kick It singer’s refusal to post a photo of his girlfriend on social media. It turns out that they were correct. The male vocalist made his SM Entertainment debut with NCT in 2016.
He is also the leader of the group and a member of its subgroups, NCT U and NCT 127. In 2019, the K-pop star made a comeback as a member of the supergroup SuperM, which was formed by SM Entertainment and Capitol Records.
Park Joo-hyun, on the other hand, made her film debut in 2019 with The Dude in Me. She is currently starring as So-rang in the MBC drama The Forbidden Marriage alongside Kim Young-dae.
