Patricia Nombuyiselo Noah is a South African media figure and the mother of Trevor Noah, a well-known comedian. Temperance and Nomalizo Frances Noah gave birth to her in South Africa.

She is of South African origin and of Xhosa or Nguni ethnic ancestry. Noah, according to stories, was a middle kid who was transferred to live with her father. Her father, on the other hand, later sent her to live with his sister (her aunt) in Transkei.

While Trevor was in Transkei, she shared a hut with 14 other cousins from various parents, including her aunt’s children.

Noah met a man of Swiss-German heritage named Robert Lloyd while residing in Hillbrow. Robert was twice Noah’s age and regarded her as a passing acquaintance. Patricia, on the other hand, requested Robert to have a baby with her despite the fact that they were not romantically involved.

She also told him that he didn’t have to pay child support or be involved in the child’s life if he didn’t want to. Robert initially denied the idea, stating that he did not want a kid, but subsequently agreed with Noah.

Noah met her husband Abel Ngisaveni in 1992 when her Volkswagen car needed maintenance several times. She and Abel eventually fell in love and decided to take their relationship to the next level.

After signing the marriage documents, Abel and Patricia became husband and wife. Trevor was only 8 years old at the time of their wedding. He also disliked Abel and had a horrible feeling about him.

Andrew, Trevor’s half-brother, was born a year later, in 1993. While everything was going well, Patricia Noah’s then-husband Ngisaveni began drinking alcohol and became abusive against his family, particularly Patricia.

Noah moved out to live with her mother after a period of anguish. Abel begged for forgiveness and requested Patricia to move in with him during this period. Unfortunately, things began to fall apart once more when their family firm, Mighty Mechanics, failed and Noah left for good.

During this time, the former couple was attempting to heal their relationship by welcoming their second kid, Isaac. Unfortunately, Abel was unable to stop his unhealthy habits, and Patricia finally divorced him in 1996.

Patricia Noah’s ex-husband, Abel Nigsaveni, shot her in the face as a form of retaliation.

Noah discovered love for the second time after divorcing her abusive spouse Abel. She was married to her second husband, Sfiso Khoza, and had a happy existence until 2009.

Unfortunately, Abel later shot Patricia in the face in the hopes of murdering her at their Johannesburg home. According to Patricia, Abel pursued her and shot her in the face and back, fracturing her jaw and penetrating her skull, nose, and ear.

Abel even fired a couple shots at her second husband, Khoza. Following this, Nigsaveni was arrested and pleaded guilty to attempted murder.

When Patricia called Abel during the trial, he vowed to seek down and kill Trevor, who was then 25 years old. Trevor, thankfully, had fled to Los Angeles. The Jeppe Magistrates Court condemned Nigsaveni to three years of correctional supervision.

The mother of three stated in an interview with the Daily Mail,

“I consider myself fortunate to be alive. When God writes, he must write for people and convey the idea that God is greater than death.”

She also said that she was treated in someone person’s name because she was afraid her ex-husband would come to ‘complete the job’ at the hospital.

Patricia faced numerous challenges as she grew up, and one of the lessons she learnt was to use comedy to cope with the suffering. Patricia joked to Trevor during her treatment for attempted murder, stating,
