Charges and Arrests Prior to Paule Guillou’s Death
Mr. Ferlut’s pharmacy was situated in the plaza opposite to the church in Vendays-Montalivet (Gironde) in 1945.
He was assisted by two pharmacy assistants. One of them is Paule Guillou, a 26-year-old woman.
Both the pharmacist’s wife and son were brought to the Bagatelle hospital in Talence after having violent diarrhea and vomiting shortly after eating.
After the mother of the family passed away on September 24, 1945, the boy succumbed to his illness on December 10, 1945.
Not long after his wife falls ill, the pharmacist also does. He has digestive problems and numb hands and feet.
