Former Brazilian football player Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known by his stage name Pelé. He became the Seleço Canarinho’s leading scorer with 77 goals in 92 games played.

The reports of Pele’s death are false; he is not dead. He is known to be fighting cancer and receiving chemotherapy, nevertheless.

Fans were alarmed when ESPN Brasil claimed that Pele had been checked into the Hospital Albert Einstein with “general swelling” and heart concerns.
According to reports, his chemotherapy treatment did not have the desired outcome, but his daughter Kelly reassured him that there was “no emergency.”
Pele acknowledged the “good vibes” sent by supporters and well-wishers and said the visit was typical, occurring every month.
The hospital also released a statement stating that Pele was receiving antibiotic treatment and that “the response has been adequate…with a general improvement in health status.”
The three-time World Cup champion will spend the ensuing few days in the hospital.
