The Lord of the Rings actor Pete Smith passed away on January 29 at the age of 63. According to local media, the New Zealander passed away from renal problems after a protracted illness. His son, Poumau Papali’i-Smith, told The Stuff,
Since he had been on dialysis for seven years, it had taken its toll on him throughout the years.
According to the announcement, the actor who played Mor had been ill for some years and was diagnosed with dementia two years ago. The 63-year-old patient contracted an infection after beginning home dialysis. Smith is survived by his wife, Mona Papali’i, and their six children.
