During an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2020, the talk show host brought up the One December Night actor’s marriage.
Clarkson seems genuinely astonished by the actor’s nearly 37-year marriage. As a wife herself, she was naturally curious as to how this lovely couple had maintained such a close bond for so long.
The terrible secret of Gallagher is that although we drive each other nuts, we do not divorce.
In addition to the jokes, the actor believed that his and his wife’s stubbornness contributed to the longevity of their marriage.
Whatever the issue was in their marriage, they opted to resolve it and made an unconscious pact that the only way out was if they were in a coffin.
Peter Gallagher’s Marriage to His Wife
Gallager instantly turned the topic to the first time he met his wife as a student in college.
He stated that they didn’t go out immediately because he was afraid to take the first step; only then did he recall how he met his wife.
He was rushing up the stairway on campus to see another woman. In contrast, she was rushing down the same set of stairs to meet a different man.
“We made it. “No words were spoken,” recalled the actor.
The fact that Gallager could remember the woman is startling. After all these years, he would one day introduce his wife to wearing platform shoes and tight bell-bottom pants.
He recalled her wearing one of those glittery dance belts. He later admitted that he felt sparks flying during that time. However, they did not immediately get along.
With Regard to Their Children
Kathryn, the couple’s eldest child, followed in her father’s footsteps and became an actress, becoming most recognized for her role in the Netflix smash You.
As of the time of writing, the actress has ten acting credits, and possibly more. She has also been known to dabble in music, music production, and acting.
James, her brother, followed in her footsteps and entered the film profession. In contrast to his talented father and brother, he chose to work as a director, writer, and cinematographer.
