A week after the news of YouTuber Peter Monn’s car accident broke, Peter Monn took to Twitter to respond to the GoFundMes that had been set up for him and his husband.
Monn wrote that several people had started GoFundMe campaigns that raised between $500 and $1 million.
The YouTuber stated that, while he appreciated the efforts, he did not approve of these and requested that they be removed.
“If I ever needed money to beg for,” he wrote. “I’d do it myself.”
Monn followed up with a separate tweet an hour later, explaining why he wanted the GoFundMes to be removed.
“I wanted to address the Go Fund Me’s because the Go Fund Me’s by myself or my husband are not by us and we are not directly related to them,” Monn wrote.
“As a result, we are requesting that those directly stating they are raising funds for us be removed.”

While the police stated that the accident was still under investigation, many netizens speculated that Monn was having a seizure at the time of the crash.

Finally, the YouTuber expressed gratitude to everyone who had helped him and his husband, as well as those who had been injured in the accident.
