Pirates Of The Caribbean | 7, Will There Be?

Pirates Of The Caribbean

Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the studio’s and possibly Hollywood’s most unresolved projects. The billion-dollar series has so far delivered five films, and fans have been debating the sixth feature and the franchise’s overall future since the last film, Dead Men Tell No Tales.

While Disney revealed Pirates of the Caribbean Part Six as a possibility in 2010, the property has seen so many ups and downs that its fate has been teetering on the verge of doubt since 2017. And the ambiguity is increasing by the day.

Meanwhile, let’s get ahead of the current pressing situation and talk about Pirates of the Caribbean 7. While there is certainly uncertainty around the sixth film, a few talks and buzzes about the franchise’s future may possibly be worth a look.

Will there be a seventh Pirates of the Caribbean film?

Hearsay, hypotheses, and guesses have grown dramatically in the years after the franchise’s later films were produced. The vast majority of them are primarily concerned with the impending sequels and whether or not Depp will reprise his legendary role.

Rumors have said that there will be at least one sequel to the current plot. This is according to a random redditor, who also claims that The Pirates Of The Caribbean 6 will feature Chernobyl series writers Ted Elliott and Craig Mazin. According to reports, Dead Men Tell No Tales filmmaker Joachim Ronning will also direct the picture.

Part seven’s prospects appear quite grim. While much too early estimates suggested that the franchise will continue beyond this upcoming film, a remake or spinoff is a distinct possibility.

Is Margot Robbie Replacing Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow as the new face of Pirates of the Caribbean?

According to reports, Margot Robbie will feature in either a reboot or a spinoff of Pirates of the Caribbean, and Christina Hodson will script the new film.

In the instance of Robbie, producer Jerry Bruckheimer announced in May 2022 that the production team had been in contact with the Babylon actress. Bruckheimer also stated at the time that the company was working on two Pirates scripts, one with and one without Robbie.

Even if she confirms to the franchise, Robbie will not be replacing Jack Sparrow. As previously said, the continuation of Jack Sparrow’s arc is less plausible by the day. However, an alternate version may emerge that does not jeopardize Depp’s legacy.

Furthermore, many fans and critics alike have called for the franchise’s demise. The previous two sequels, On Stranger Tides and Dead Men Tell No Tales, did not do well critically, and even before Depp vs Heard, some prominent cast members had expressed disinterest in reuniting for the upcoming sequel. So, while Jack Sparrow’s adventure appears to have a lot more to give, it may also have had a swan song.

However, it is worth remembering that the franchise is far too lucrative for any production firm to simply pull the curtain. The five films have grossed a total of $4.5 billion at the movie office. Some trustworthy sources have confirmed the news of scripts in the works. It almost probably signifies that a sequel, reboot, or spin-off is on the way. People are worried about the cast and the release dates.

Will Johnny Depp Return in Pirates of the Caribbean 6?

Until the Depp vs. Heard case was resolved, Disney believed that the 59-year-old actor would not be cast in any future editions of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

However, following Depp’s victory in the famed slander lawsuit, the House of Mouse, according to several reports, has been attempting to grant the Edward Scissorhands star one more project.

Suffice it to say, the chances of Johnny Depp reprising his role as the swashbuckling Captain Jack Sparrow have only risen since the 2022 defamation case.

However, throughout the case, Johnny stated that it would take a’million alpacas’ to get him to reprise his role as Jack Sparrow.

However, multiple sources revealed in late 2022 that Depp will play a role in the film, but it will not be a sequel to the fifth feature.

Furthermore, according to certain insiders, “Johny is set to return as Captain Jack Sparrow.” According to the associates, the production will be one of Hollywood’s most secret projects in the UK and will begin in February 2023.

The project appears to be in its early stages, with no director in place.

Bruce Hendricks, on the other hand, is an Executive Producer on the project. Adding to this, Hendricks once stated,

All other information is kept behind lock and key. The entire endeavor is cloaked in mystery, and Disney is doing everything they can to keep it that way.

Depp’s last appearance in the franchise came in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, the fifth film.
