On January 4, Pratibha Singh Baghel was born in Rewah, Madhya Pradesh, India. When she was 13 years old, she began taking lessons in Indian classical music from her master, the late R.J. Pasana. She earned a degree in music at the age of 18, under the name “Sangeet Prabhakar.” She then spent some time studying music with Dr. Suhasini Sathe.

Pratibha Singh made her television debut as a participant in the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge musical reality competition in India (2009). She was a member of Lakshya Gharana, Shankar Mahadevan’s team in the program. She was one of the top competitors in the competition and received a great deal of audience acclaim.
