The ultimate culinary competition series, Pressure Cooker, will premiere on Netflix on January 6, 2023, at 3:01 a.m. ET. The highly anticipated series will be a cross between a cooking show and a housebound reality show.
Some of the best chefs in the world will compete for the ultimate title, as they did for Top Chef and Master Chef. Pressure Cooker, on the other hand, has put its own spin on this by having the 11 participants live together, just like Big Brother. Netflix claims that this is the first program of its kind.
Chefs will not only interact but also cohabit in Netflix’s Pressure Cooker
The following is a synopsis of the upcoming show:
“In this first-ever home reality cooking competition, 11 experienced chefs must demonstrate that they possess all of the characteristics required to thrive in the actual culinary industry. Our group of confident chefs will be locked together within a culinary fortress for many weeks, cooking, sleeping, and coexisting alongside their opponents.”
It continues, saying:
“As if that weren’t enough pressure, they’ll need a strategy to balance impressing their colleagues while keeping an eye on their own backs… because there is no judging panel in the Pressure Cooker. The chefs evaluate one another. This is a high-stakes search for the ideal chef’s chef.”
Candidates for the ultimate “Chef’s Chef” title will live and cook together for several weeks. They’ll have to strike a balance between gaining their peers’ respect and admiration and devising a winning strategy to keep them in the game.
In this eight-episode arrangement, the chefs will be each other’s judges. So it’s up to them to decide whether they want to keep hiring people based on their culinary skills or let them go because they’re too good to compete with.
“Because you will not be assessed by a panel of celebrity chefs, impressing your peers will be crucial to your success or failure in this home. You will be judged by each other.”
When the participants heard this, they immediately expressed their concerns about what would follow. One competitor stated:
“This isn’t just about the dishes; the sooner we realize that, the sooner we can play the game.”
The program’s winner will be the person who can balance preparing beautiful meals and making contacts. Pressure Cooker is produced by Mission Control Media, a reality competition series production company. Veteran producers David Friedman, Dwight Smith, and Michael Agbabian serve as executive producers for the series.
On their first viewing, the candidates were astounded to discover the show’s true format. Instead of a traditional host, they are informed of their jobs and other show-related information by a ticket printing machine. Each week, players critique each other’s meals and choose one person to be eliminated from the tournament.
The audience will be able to meet the Pressure Cooker contestants, including chef Robbie Jester, according to some sources. Robbie posted a few unauthorized concert photos on Instagram.
