On March 14, 1958, Prince Albert was born in the Monaco Prince’s Palace. And he is now 62 years old. On April 20, 1958, Monsignor Jean Delay, archbishop of Marseille, baptized him in Monaco’s Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception before presenting him to the people of Monaco from the Palace’s balcony.

His father is Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, and his mother is Grace Kelly, an American actress. The ancestors of the Prince can be traced back to Italy, Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, France, Mexico, Belgium, and Monaco. The prince was born in the United States and raised in Monaco.

He did, however, renounce his American citizenship in his early adulthood. His godmother was Queen Victoria Eugenia of Spain, and his godfather was Prince Louis de Polignac (1909–1996). His mother died in a car accident in 1982 as a result of her injuries. She died when she was 52 years old.

Following a year of training in various princely duties, the prince enrolled in 1977 as Albert Grimaldi at Amherst College in western Massachusetts, where he studied political science, economics, music, and English literature, as well as becoming a member of the Chi Psi fraternity. He speaks French, English, German, and Italian fluently.

In addition, in mid-1979, the prince traveled to Europe and the Middle East with the Amherst Glee Club. He also attended the Alfred Marshall School of Economics and Management at the University of Bristol in 1979. In 1981, Prince Albert earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science.
