Randy Lemmon, a well-known radio personality, died of stroke complications on Wednesday, January 4, at the age of 61.
KRIV broadcaster Chris Tritico shared a photo of Lemmon on Facebook, describing him as a nice person with a big heart. The message continued,
“Randy’s GardenLine was right on our tail when Brian Clary and I were doing Hearsay. During his last segment, Brian and I would storm into the studio and take over his show. Randy couldn’t stop us no matter what he tried. We had a great time. “I’m going to miss him…”
Randy was also remembered on Facebook by Steven Kay, Radio Producer & Traffic Reporter of KSEV AM 700 – The Voice of Texas, who wrote that he met Randy when he joined The GardenLine as a producer in 2011.
Randy, according to Steven, treated him with dignity at all times. He also stated that they remained in contact after Steven left IHeartMedia Houston. Steven concluded his article by saying,
“I wish I had done it more frequently. H-town radio lost a powerful voice, and the world lost a good man. Rest in peace, my friend. Despite the fact that we all agree that this is far too soon, you hit the ground running as usual.”
Randy’s wife, Yvonne Lemmon, and their two children, Randal and Selena, as well as other relatives, survive him.
