During a trial in the U.S. state of Washington, the rapper Lil Mosey was found not guilty of rape. In 2020, the 21-year-old, whose actual name is Lathan Echols, was charged with second-degree rape after allegedly assaulting a lady at a party.
Thursday at the Lewis County Superior Court, a jury exonerated the Seattle musician.
In 2020, his song Blueberry Faygo entered the top 10 in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
If convicted, Lil Mosey could have faced a maximum sentence of life in prison.
Following the verdict, he posted to Instagram:
“Two years of my life were spent enduring the storm, and I am pleased to report that God has now revealed the truth. Thank you.”
