Two people have been arrested in relation with her death. According to YouTube, Dahviere Griswold, 20, and Rasean Patterson, 18, were detained on January 25, 2023.
They were charged with second-degree murder and tried. They are set to appear in court on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.

On Friday, the third suspect, a 16-year-old boy, was charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder, and unauthorized pistol possession.
According to a tweet from Syracuse early Friday, state police assisted in apprehending the third suspect, a 16-year-old boy who has not been identified, near Lincolndale, New York. He is charged with the same crimes as Griswold and Patterson.
The 16-year-old boy was a “resident of a juvenile facility” and was not there when Brexialee was killed.
On January 16, at 7:42 p.m., the suspects allegedly opened fire while inside a car. According to Fitzpatrick, the alleged target was a 19-year-old man who was shot in the leg. He is expected to live.
The adolescent was on leave from a less secure juvenile jail camp outside of New York City on the day of the shooting, January 16.
According to Syracuse Police, the incident occurred near Dr. Martin Luther King Elementary School. Brexialee, who was carrying milk, was returning home from a neighborhood grocery store when suspects in a stolen automobile began firing at another car, according to police.
According to Fitzpatrick, the three were found “immediately” after Brexialee died. According to Cecile, the car in the CCTV footage was stolen and quickly found because it had been dumped.
On January 16, Brexialee Torres-Ortiz left her house to get a carton of milk for her family.

In her obituary, Brexialee Torres Ortiz’s family stated that she was remembered as everyone’s cheerleader, best friend, and someone who would provide a helping hand to anyone in need.
She was supposed to like spending time with her family, cooking, and laughing hysterically. She was also fiercely protective of her sisters.
Brexialee was learning how to make her favorite dish, homemade mac & cheese, when her grandmother needed extra milk.
The kid had previously visited the neighborhood corner store, but she was shot and died close to her home this time.
Brexialee’s third-grade teacher at Seymour-Dual Language Academy, a Syracuse City School District teacher, recalls her as a nice and talented youngster.
She decided to include this cuffed beanie because, knowing Brexialee, she assumed she would want everyone to wear a winter hat to be warm.
