R&B Singer Joyce Sims Passed Away At The Age Of 63

Joyce Sims

The renowned vocalist and composer Joyce Sims passed away on October 15 at the age of 63. Her relatives confirmed the news, and one of her sisters, Annette Ramsey, paid tribute to her on Facebook. She declared:

I will always remember the happy times we shared, and I will never forget your love and support.

“Rest in peace Big Sister, I love you.”

Chris Rizik, the publisher of SoulTracks, remarked that Sims was an extraordinary artist who sang, created, and performed for them for over three decades.

In addition, he stated that the music business would mourn her passing and that her impact on music was beyond her three-and-a-half decades of popularity.

The cause of Joyce’s death is unknown, and it is unknown whether she had any health problems. The members of her family are currently expecting an official statement on the subject.

Come Into My Life by Joyce Sims reached the R&B top ten

Joyce, who was born on August 6, 1959, soared to fame with the release of her hit Come Into My Life in 1987. It reached number ten on the US Billboard R&B chart and the UK Singles Chart in 1987 and 1988.

She attended college where she studied music and several other instruments. In 1986, she joined with the now-defunct record label Sleeping Bag Records and released her debut single, (You Are My) All and All. The song was included on the UK Singles Chart and the US Dance Chart at the time.

Afterward, Joyce Sims released Come Into My Life, which became her biggest hit and the only R&B record to reach the top ten.

She collaborated with Jimmy Castor to rewrite Love Makes a Woman, which was also favorably welcomed by the public. 1987 saw the release of Sims’ debut album, Come Into My Life, which peaked at number 22 on the US R&B album chart and number 5 on the UK Albums Chart.

Apart from “Love Makes a Woman,” every song on the CD was written by her. 1989 saw the release of her second album, All About Love, which reached number 64 on the UK Albums Chart.

Who’s Crying Now, the following single by Joyce Sims, was released in 1994. The song All the World Needs Now is Love was included on her 2006 album A New Beginning.

In 2009, she released Come into My Life: The Very Best of Joyce Sims, a double CD containing her best hits and remixes, and established August Rose Records.

Love Song, Joyce’s second album, was released in 2014, and her songs were featured in the 1995 science fiction horror film Species. Thereafter, she issued the single Wishing You Were Here, followed by the album Back in Love Again.
