Last week, Rebel Wilson shocked her fans by revealing she had secretly received a newborn daughter through surrogacy.
The new mother used Instagram to share a picture of her infant and to announce Roycie Lillian as the child’s name. In the picture, the infant is wearing a pink onesie and is holding mittens and unicorn-themed shoes.
Wilson called her first kid a “wonderful miracle” and said she was “honored” to announce her birth. The actress complimented everyone involved in the birth of her child, praising her “lovely surrogate” in particular.
Rebel Wilson revealed her intentions and decided to create a child through surrogacy in a 2019 interview with People, albeit she did not explain why she chose surrogacy.
On the cover of People Magazine in May 2019, Rebel Wilson discussed her fertility issues and said that she might have better fertility if she were healthier:
“He evaluated me and told me that if I were healthy, I’d perform considerably better.”
The Jojo Rabbit actress continued by stating that she felt pressured to maintain her health at the time because of her future child’s needs:
“I was taken aback. I thought, “Oh my God, this individual is extremely rude.” He was accurate. I had a lot of additional weight on me. It almost seems like I didn’t take care of my personal needs. I was motivated to get healthy by the needs of a future child.
“Weight loss was never the goal.” It simply involved becoming the best version of myself.
Additionally, the actress has the polycystic ovarian syndrome, which could prevent conception. Wilson stated in the interview that because of the “biological clock,” she would prefer “going for it alone” if she ever wanted to start a family.

The actress-comedian also admitted that she was inspired by Janet Jackson’s maternity journey to start considering fertility at the age of 39. At the time, Rebel Wilson also acknowledged that the journey had been challenging and that she was unsure about the outcome:
I can relate to any woman who has experienced it. It’s been a roller coaster of feelings. How it will end is uncertain to me. However, I’m still young enough to try it.
Two years later, Wilson has already given birth to her first child through surrogacy. The actress admitted that she is “rapidly learning” and “proud” to be a new mother or father. Ramona Agruma, Wilson’s girlfriend, left a remark on the latter’s Instagram photo following the birth of her child to show her support for Wilson.
Agra and Wilson sparked engagement rumors earlier this year. The couple, who were spotted sporting diamond rings on their fingers at George Clooney’s Casamigos Halloween Party, reportedly got engaged last month. On the other hand, the Pitch Perfect actress denied the allegations and emphasized that she was not engaged to her partner.
