Recently, Tabby Diamond passed away after being fatally shot in a Jamaican drive-in. One person was killed and three people were hurt in an incident that occurred on McKinley Crescent in St. Andrew, Kingston, on March 29.
According to reports, Diamond’s cousin Owen Beckford was the second victim. Two men and a woman are reportedly being treated for gunshot wounds. According to Loop News, senior superintendent of the St Andrew Police Division Kirk Ricketts stated that preliminary findings indicated that the shooting may have been related to a local gang conflict.
Ricketts, police are looking into whether the singer may have been the target of Tabby’s son, who is currently being held for murder due to suspected criminal activity.
According to the statement, Diamond and Beckford were among a group of people waiting outside a store on McKinley Crescent when an unknown shooter opened fire, hurting five people.
The musician is said to have been repeatedly struck in the face before being brought to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Mighty Diamonds, a well-known Jamaican reggae harmony trio, includes Tabby Diamond as a member. His family, employment, and academic background have not yet been made public.
Three buddies who have remained friends ever since formed the band in 1969. Their 1976 debut album, Right Time, and their 1979 album, Deeper Roots, are the two they are best known for.
The Limelight was founded in the middle of the 1960s by Tabby Diamond, Fitzroy Simpson, and Lloyd Ferguson, who were classmates and friends. Their silky harmonies and planned theatrical spectacle were influenced by the 1960s Motown vocal groups. Their initial records were created by Pat Francis, Stranger Cole, Derrick Harriott, Bunny Lee, Lee “Scratch” Perry, and Rupie Edwards.
Due to their association with producer Joseph Hoo Kim, they saw their biggest breakthrough in the middle of the 1970s.
They were signed by Virgin Records, and their debut record, Right Time, was released in 1976. The band’s subsequent release, Ice on Fire, didn’t particularly wow the public even though the album had been a success.
The trio quickly released music on their own Bad Gong label, and Deeper Roots, their second album, was a financial hit. They collaborated with producer Gussie Clarke in the early 1980s, and Changes, their second album, was created in 1981.
One of the Changes’ songs, Pass the Kouchie, went viral all over the world. The group’s appearance at Reggae Sunsplash in 1982 was captured on tape and released the following year on an album.
They continued to put out albums while adjusting to the popular digital beats of the 1980s and beyond. The ensemble received recognition in the National Honours and Awards for Jamaica’s 59th anniversary of independence in 2021.
