On July 8, 2022, Monty Lopez, the father of Addison Rae, made news when Renée Ash, then 25 years old, announced her purported five-month relationship with him.
Reportedly, Ash was led to believe that his marriage to Sheri Nicole Easterling, his wife, was over when it wasn’t.
“He related a narrative about his marriage to me that made me think they were divorcing and apart. Monty Lopez promised me that we would get married and have children, she claimed.
Despite their 20-year age difference, Ash and Lopez began dating in February, and the former had no reservations because she was accustomed to dating older guys.
The Bam Social entrepreneur eventually won her heart, and she heeded his advice to keep their relationship discreet and maintain the “facade for bigger cheques.”
But to the general public, Ash was just a secret. As their relationship developed, Lopez introduced her as his girlfriend to his friends, mother, and brother.
She subsequently found out he was disloyal, though, when footage of him flirting with other women became online. Death threats were made to Renée Ash by Monty Lopez’s followers.
She then opened up in a candid, all-access interview with Page Six. She apologized to Easterling and Rae and shared all of their relationship details.
It appears that some internet users villainized her during this time and threatened her with death.
On July 21, 2022, Ash published all the death threats she had received on Instagram stories. One of the messages claimed that Courtney Lynn had broken up a family by having an affair with a married guy.
“The entire world was aware of their marriage from the beginning. Trying to get out of it by lying makes you appear foolish. True ladies don’t disrupt marriages and have affairs with married guys. You are a repulsive woman. You ought to feel ashamed of yourself, the woman wrote.
User Emily Thompson accused Ash of having a Lopez obsession and power-hunting.
“His daughter is one of the most famous people in history. Even if this is true, don’t claim that you were ignorant, Thompson said. Some even expressed their desire for her death by threatening to kill her.
Renée Ash Responds to the Criticism
She shared all the criticism in her message before thanking everyone who had expressed regret on her behalf for what she had gone through.
“Thank you to those who didn’t need me to explain a complex situation to them. Continuing,” Ash wrote.
On July 22, 2022, Ash returned to Instagram Stories and explained why she had shared all the criticism she had received. “At first, I was astonished and saddened, and because I am an open and honest person, I posted the critical comments I was getting.”
She stated that she was developing and learning while also sharing the encouraging feedback she had gotten to better not just her mental health but also that of other women.
She presented a collage of the support she had gotten from her admirers in the following narrative. Ash expressed gratitude to all for their support and kindness.
