During a recent visit on the To Be The Man podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair discussed his opinions on the AEW backstage fights and CM Punk’s contentious remarks.
Ric Flair, a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, recently responded to CM Punk’s shocking remarks at the post-All Out media scrum. Following the allegedly violent altercation backstage, CM Punk lost the AEW World Championship and was subject to suspension. Flair recently talked about his encounter with Colt Cabana and their discussion of CM Punk.
None of the wrestlers involved in the backstage altercation between Punk, Ace Steel, aka Christopher Guy, and The Elite, aka Colt Cabana, have since been seen live on AEW TV.
However, the event that got everyone talking was Cabana’s return to AEW when he responded to Chris Jericho’s open challenge for the ROH World Championship. Many people thought Punk might never return to the AEW ring.

Although sixteen-time World Champion Ric Flair discussed specifics of his recent conversation with Cabana on his latest appearance on To Be The Man.
He recalled how they met and added, “I had no idea who Colt Cabana was when he approached me and asked for my autograph. I’ve never met him, and he introduces himself as Colt Cabana.
I got to my feet and shook his hand. What’s going on with you and Punk, I questioned. It’s a long story, he said. Thus, Punk has more in-depth conversations with individuals than I do. [Cabana] is a pleasant kid and an excellent worker.”

Flair discussed the backstage brawl problem and claimed he finds it entertaining in the same interview. He stated: “I’ve been observing this distantly. It’s quite enjoyable.
If it’s entertainment that fans want, they’re getting it from Punk, who provides a lot of it. He’s stirring up excitement right now, and if he says it with confidence… I appreciate how he emphasized that I should stroll down the corridor and be prepared.
Right there, Harley Race is speaking. I’m not sure whether he’s that harsh, but I enjoy it [laughs]. That is vintage material. You can locate me there in the building if you have a problem with me.”
The WWE Hall of Famer added that an unnamed AEW staffer had told him that CM Punk will not be returning to the organization.
