Richie Meeker, the son of Moore, was a gun collector who died at the age of 24 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Meeker was a student at the University of Southern California at the time of the incident, and his roommate was present when the shot was fired.
Her spouse Grant Tinker informed Moore. The call informing her of Richie’s passing came around five in the morning.
She was overcome with sorrow when she heard that he had shot himself, but they later learned that it had been an accident.
The short-barreled gun, which Richie’s roommate identified as the “Snake Charmer,” went off while he was loading and unloading it, according to Richie’s roommate.
It was a terrible experience to have his roommate die in front of him; his roommate mentioned that the gunshot was loud and he slid off the bed.
His mother found it difficult to accept the fact that her son had left the family. She lost her sister to a heroin overdose just two years ago.
