Ricky Gervais, a comedian, has encountered similar criticism in the wake of the backlash after Dave Chappelle’s contentious trans joke in his Netflix special.
Only a few hours have passed since Gervais’ SuperNature stand-up special became available on Netflix, but it has already generated discussion. Within minutes of beginning his speech, Gervais made light of the divisive opinions of women referred to as Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminists (TERF).
The definition states that a woman is a TERF if she is reluctant to accept trans women into the feminist movement, a claim that is naturally refuted by more accepting gender rights activists.
Gervais also poked fun at the ongoing problem of trans women using restrooms that are only for women. Later, the English comedian talked about Kevin Hart’s issue with the trans community and how it caused him to quit hosting the Oscars in 2018 because of homophobic remarks he had made in the past.

In his special, the 60-year-old Whitley, Reading, United Kingdom native said:
He says, “Oh, ladies.” Not all women; I’m referring to the conventional ones. the conventional women—those having wombs. That dirty dinosaur species. I like the new women. They are wonderful, aren’t they?
He continued by expressing his love for transgender persons, but some on Twitter took offense at the tone of his remarks. Transgender ladies were alluded to by him as “new ones” and “c**ks with beards.” In Ricky Gervais’ opinion:
Then, Gervais talked about how some women would find it difficult to accept trans women in bathrooms that are designated for women. He declared:
“The traditional ones say, ‘Oh, they want to use our toilets. Why shouldn’t they utilize your restrooms? “For women!” You can tell they are women by their pronouns. What if this person isn’t a woman? “Well, you fucking bigot, his penis!” “You fucking bigot, her penis!” What if I get raped by him? If she raps you, what will you do, you f**king TERF who?
In the meantime, Ricky Gervais discussed the cancel culture for dissenting viewpoints on transgender women. It is hard to predict what would be deemed offensive in the future, according to Gervais. He made the implication that any viewpoint that wasn’t shared by the “dominant audience” would be rejected and would receive death threats.

In a series of tweets, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), which advocates for and represents many transgender persons, questioned the performance. They declared:
It’s jam-packed with violent, lethal anti-trans rants that pass for humor. Additionally, he expresses anti-gay sentiments and spreads erroneous HIV information.
At the end of his broadcast, Ricky Gervais declared that he was in favor of trans rights. He went on:
“Enjoy life to the fullest. Use the pronouns that you prefer. Be the gender you identify with. However, Ricky Gervais retaliated by telling the trans women to “drop the c*ck.”
