The expectant 28-year-old woman’s apartment in Hackney’s Rectory Road was visited by police that evening, and she was subsequently pronounced dead.

At a hearing on Monday at the Old Bailey, Taylor admitted murdering Ms. Walsh.

The prosecution, Jane Osborne KC, had said at a previous hearing that the assault was “ruthless” and was committed knowing that Ms. Walsh was carrying the defendant’s child.

In December, Ailish Walsh’s death was found at her Rectory Road home. A guy has admitted to killing his pregnant girlfriend with a pair of scissors.

Liam Taylor, 37, admitted killing Ailish Walsh, 28, who was 22 weeks pregnant and had more than 40 puncture wounds, at the Old Bailey.

She was found on December 15 at her residence on Rectory Road in Hackney, east London, after what was described as a “ferocious” attack. Later, the victim’s father discovered her dead and covered in blood.

She was wearing a high-visibility jacket, and in the pocket of the jacket she held the defendant’s debit card. A pair of bloody scissors and two dumbbells were found nearby.

Taylor, a resident of Hornsey in north London, was shown on surveillance footage coming into the building via the common door at 20:36 GMT and departing at 21:14 GMT.

Five minutes before the victim left, a female friend contacted him and over the phone, she could hear fighting and yelling in the background.

The court was told that she had gotten in contact with Ms. Walsh after learning through texts that she was trying to expel Taylor from the residence because he was doing narcotics.

Taylor was hauled into jail at his home early the next morning. He had alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine in his bloodstream.

As he was being brought into detention, he said to the police, “It’s crazy how one moment of madness can change your whole life.”

Taylor allegedly had past convictions for abusing female family members, according to the court.

He was given a warning for headbutting his 16-year-old sister and a 12-month jail term for striking his mother with a metal rod.

Taylor was hauled into jail at his home early the next morning. He had alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine in his bloodstream.

As he was being brought into detention, he said to the police, “It’s crazy how one moment of madness can change your whole life.”

On December 18, he was charged, and on December 21, he made a formal appearance. Taylor, 37, was previously found guilty of abusing female members of his family, according to the court file.

The Hornsey man was given a warning for headbutting his 16-year-old sister and a 12-month jail term for striking his mother with a metal rod.

Judge Alexia Durran placed him in custody and delayed his sentence so that reports could be prepared.

The case will be brought back before the Old Bailey on May 10 to set a date for the sentence.
