Roberto Enrique Clemente Walker was the full name of a professional baseball right fielder who played 18 seasons for the Pittsburgh Pirates in Major League Baseball (MLB). He became the first Latin American and Caribbean player to be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1973.

But his death on December 31, 1972, took everyone by surprise. After appearing in 15 All-Star Games, Roberto Clemente was an All-Star for 13 seasons.
