How did Robin Li start his Professional Career?

Li joined Dow Jones and Company’s IDD Information Services, a New Jersey-based company, in 1994 and worked on developing software for The Wall Street Journal’s online publication. In addition, he focused on optimizing search engine algorithms.

Between May 1994 and June 1997, he worked for IDD Information Services. While working at IDD in 1996, Li developed the Rankdex site-scoring system for search engine page classification, which was granted a U.S. patent.

I worked as a staff engineer for Infoseek, one of the first internet search engine corporations, from July 1997 to December 1999.

Since founding Baidu in January 2000, Li has expanded the company to become the largest search engine in China, with a market share of over 80%.

Baidu completed its initial public offering (IPO) on NASDAQ in 2005, and it became the first Chinese company to be included in the NASDAQ-100 in 2007.
