Roger Goodell was born in Jamestown, New York, on February 19, 1959. His father, Charles Ellsworth Goodell, was a US Senator from New York, and his mother, Jean (Rice) Goodell, was from Buffalo, NY. Goodell’s early academic and athletic achievements highlighted his exceptional ability. He attended Bronxville High School, where he excelled academically and participated in three sports: football, basketball, and baseball.

His leadership talents were evident as he led all three teams during his senior year and was named the school’s athlete of the year. Despite his great football ability, injuries prevented Goodell from extending his collegiate career. Roger married Jane Skinner, a former Fox News Channel anchor. Jane was born on February 12, 1967, to Samuel K. Skinner and Susan Ann Thomas.

Skinner started her career as a political journalist at KBJR in Duluth, Minnesota. She went on to work as a general correspondent for Fox News after leaving WNBC-TV in New York City in 2010. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell married Jane Skinner on October 25, 1995. The couple has twin children. They were born in 2001.
