According to reports, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has criticized Donald Trump’s “daily drama,” intensifying his attacks on a leading White House opponent.
In an interview, Mr. DeSantis stated, “Be tuned” in regard to his rumored presidential ambitions, while mocking a fellow Republican’s legal troubles.
He offered veiled criticism of Mr. Trump’s alleged connection with a pornstar’s “underlying behavior.”
In preparation for the 2024 White House election, the competitors have engaged in shadow boxing.
On Tuesday, Trump loyalists criticized Mr. DeSantis’ most recent comments. The majority of Republican party figures have shown their support for the legally troubled Mr. Trump.
A New York grand jury is weighing whether to bring charges against the former president for a 2016 payment to an adult film actress to keep quiet about their alleged romance.
In an interview with Piers Morgan Uncensored that will appear on Thursday, Mr. DeSantis declared that he could defeat President Joe Biden if he ran for the White House.
In a preview of his interview, the Fox Nation anchor stated that when he asked Mr. DeSantis to compare his manner to that of Mr. Trump, the Florida governor responded,
“The way we run the government is without daily drama; we focus on the big picture and score points.”
When asked about Mr. Trump’s nicknames for him, such as “Ron DeSanctimonious” and “Meatball Ron,” he replied, “It’s just background noise.
“It is unimportant for me to engage in conflict with others on social media. Nothing is accomplished for the folks I represent.”
About a former Trump fixer’s payment of hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels, Mr. DeSantis stated,
“there has been a great deal of speculation about the underlying conduct.”
“That is supposedly it, but in actuality, it’s just outside my expertise. That is simply not something I can comment on.”
Mr. DeSantis infuriated Trump fans on Monday when he stated,
“I don’t know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star in order to silence her about an alleged affair.”
A spokesperson for Mr. Trump stated on Tuesday evening that the latest attack indicated that Mr. DeSantis has “poor political instincts.”
Taylor Budowich tweeted,
“When the whole conservative movement is unified against the unfair indictment of President Donald Trump, Governor DeSantis is taking potshots at some low-rent video.”
Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of the former president, accused Mr. DeSantis of “pathetically” assaulting Mr. Trump “on orders” from the “establishment” of the Republican Party.
