On February 18, Ron Shirley, the star of Lizard Lick Towing on TruTV, posted on his Facebook page that his son Harley Alexander “Alex” Shirley had passed away.

Local sources claim that the 21-year-old was killed on February 17. Shirley posted a touching tribute to his deceased son on Facebook. He wrote,

The specifics around the duration of the shootout become very confusing without additional background. A residence on Josephine Road is where Shirley was shot on Thursday night, according to a Sheriff’s Office press release.
Deputies from the County police responded to reports of a shooting near the home at 8 p.m., according to Capt. Jeff Caldwell in the statement.
In addition to Harley, a 20-year-old woman, according to Caldwell, was shot. Despite initial claims to the contrary, the victims were found shot at a Sheetz parking lot on Cornwallis Road, according to a caller. Three miles to the north of the property was this parking lot.
The woman, who has not yet been identified by the media, managed to escape with only minor injuries while Ron Shirley’s child was found dead at the scene. A third person was also in the car with the other two victims, although he only sustained minor wounds.
The murder allegedly took place in the front yard of the building, according to the victim’s family. According to the press, numerous suspects were seen escaping the scene of the gunfight.
They allegedly drove away in a yellow car. Ron Shirley’s brother, Jason Shirley, said WRAL News that he would provide a reward of up to $25,000 for any important information regarding the deceased 21-year-old that could help the investigation.
The police report states that the incident occurred on Thursday at 8 p.m. In the meantime, Ron Shirley’s family told WRAL News that the murder took place during a gathering to remember another departed cousin.
In honor of Xavier Smith, who passed away in a vehicle accident earlier this week, they were releasing balloons. There is no known reason for the killings as of yet. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation and requesting details regarding the suspects’ identities.
