Rowoon will take on the role of a widower with a variety of skills. Shim Jung-woo excels academically and has everything he needs, yet he is unfortunate. As the youngest member of his community to pass the Civil Services Exam, he is also engaged to be wed. Choi Yi-hyun will portray Jung Soon-deok, a widow who hides her true identity from society by leading a secret life, in the meantime.
She takes on the role of a daughter-in-law during the course of the evening in the Joseon-era Bukchon family. She changes completely, though, when the sun rises, becoming a determined trader who values commerce. As a widow during the Joseon Dynasty, Jung Soon-deok encounters numerous challenges.
She prepares herself for danger by covertly studying martial arts and other physical disciplines. In addition to her martial arts training, she is renowned as a matchmaker and an enthusiastic reader of love stories. As the plot develops, Shim Jung-woo meets Jung Soon-deok. The four most promising maidens must be married off by them in order for Joseon to compete internationally.
The Battle of Marriage, starring Choi Yi-hyun, will be directed by Hwang Seung-gi, known for his previous films Radio Romance and Into the Ring. Acclaimed screenwriter Ha Soo-jin, known for her work on hit projects like Sell Your Haunted House, Red Carpet, and others, will pen the show’s script. Rowoon and Choi Yi-hyun are performing together in the drama, and fans of K-dramas are excited to see how well they work together.
