Roy Hoffman, a resident of Illinois, was found dead, having been murdered by Azmi Ibrahmin Jr. and Kathryn A. Deason.
According to the police, two Illinois residents are accused of killing a 77-year-old man who was meeting a woman to exchange money for sex.
Roy Hoffman, a resident of Fox Lake, was found dead at his home on Monday around 9:30 p.m. CST, according to WLS-TV. The Lake County coroner identified him, per the news source.
Asmi Ibrahim Jr., 37, of Round Lake, is accused with first-degree murder and obstructing justice, according to WFLD-TV. Kathryn A. Deason, 31, of Round Lake, was accused of impeding justice, according to the news station.
According to Christopher Covelli, a spokesman for the Lake County Major Crime Task Force, according to the Daily Herald in Arlington Heights, Hoffman had agreed to meet Deason for a “romantic” encounter in exchange for cash.
The newspaper reports that according to the police, Ibrahim allegedly drove Deason to Hoffman’s apartment and remained in his minivan while she entered.
Ibrahim went outside to determine which apartment Deason had entered, according to the Daily Herald, then he went back to his minivan and got a revolver.

Ibrahim allegedly broke into Hoffman’s home during a quarrel, according to the police, WFLD reported. According to the TV station, Ibrahim allegedly shot Hoffman during the argument, killing him.
According to Covelli, when Asmi knocked on the door, “at first, we believe the victim indicated that Kathryn was not inside with him.”
The shooter later entered the home, made his way upstairs, and shot the 77-year-old after retrieving a firearm from the minivan he had arrived in.
According to Covelli, investigators are still looking into the incident to determine whether it entailed an attempt at robbery, an effort at money theft, or a refusal to deliver the agreed-upon products in favor of keeping the money.

The prosecution has charged 37-year-old Asmi Ibrihim Jr. with first-degree murder and impeding the course of justice. Kathryn A. Deason, 31, is charged with obstructing justice in relation to the deadly gunshot.
They assert, however, that the shooting happened quickly after the two suspects arrived in a minivan and Ibrihim started looking for Deason. The motive for the crime is still a mystery to the investigators.
Asmi was informed by the victim that Kathryn wasn’t inside with him when he knocked on the door, said Lt. Christopher Covelli of the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force.

At Ibrihim’s Round Lake home, where police claimed to have seen the getaway car, both were apprehended.

Even though the two suspects who have been imprisoned for the crime could be up in bail court as soon as Tuesday, police are asking for the public’s help.
Deason’s bond was $1 million, while Ibrahim’s was $5 million, per online booking records.
