Born on April 1, 1939, Rudolph Bernard Isley was 84 years old when he passed away. Cincinnati was the birthplace of the second of Sallye (Bell) and O’Kelly Isley’s six sons.

Rudolph Bernard Isley is his name. He began singing in church when he was a little boy, and as a teenager, he went on tours and had performances with three of the other senior Isleys.

In the early days of the ensemble, Vernon, the eldest brother, used to sing lead. After he was killed by a vehicle whilst riding his bicycle at the age of 13, Ronald assumed lead vocals.

After a short separation, the surviving brothers reunited, with Ronald taking the lead vocals and Kelly and Rudolph providing support. Rudolph was crucial to the band’s success even though he didn’t often sing lead.

He wrote lyrics and provided backup vocals for many of their songs, including “That Lady,” “Nobody But Me,” and “Testify,” which featured a teenage Jimi Hendrix on guitar.

In 2006, Rudy attended his brother Ronnie’s wedding as best man to his backing singer, Kandy Johnson. For a long while, Rudy and his wife resided in Otisville, New York, until moving to Olympia Fields in Chicago in 2013.

They purchased R. Kelly’s former home in an effort to be nearer to their kids and grandkids.
