So, how does her work relate to her life? Does she have a boyfriend or is she married? Every detail about the singer Sabi from Champagne.

Sabi’s siblings and wiki: Her parents divorced when she was a little child

On November 24, 1987, Sabi, also known as Jenice Dena Portlock, was born in Inglewood, California. Sabi was raised in a bilingual home speaking Spanish and English. Her father is African-American, while her mother is Salvadoran.

When Sabi’s parents divorced for unclear reasons, she was pretty young. After her mother and father separated, Sabi and her younger sister decided to reside with her father since his home had a TV service.

She was greatly affected by music while she was staying at her father’s house. Sabi has even admitted on several occasions that she used to spend her weekends hooked to the TV since she enjoyed watching MTV as a child.

She has openly admitted in an interview that she enjoyed seeing performers like Sade, Prince, and Michael Jackson.

I recall attempting to mimic Michael Jackson’s motions by repeatedly viewing the Michael Jackson: Moonwalker video.

It was at this period of her life that she became interested in pop music, composing songs, and performing as well. Her fascination with it became so strong that she would choreograph her younger sister and coerce her into performing for the family.

Instruction

When Sabi was still in middle school, she joined the theater to further her interests in music and theater. In 2005, she received her diploma from Westchester Senior High School.

2008 saw Sabi make her professional theatrical debut in the indie short film The Smallest River in Almirante.

She has had appearances in advertisements for well-known companies including Pepsi, Universal Studios, and the ABC family. In the meanwhile, she completed her studies in 2009 with a communication major at California State University Long Beach.

While still in college, Sabi practiced her vocal style and imitated other singers to improve her performance. Regarding the same, she had said,

I could duplicate the identical sound of anyone, be it Alicia Keys, Brandy, or Justin Timberlake. That’s how I learned to feel at ease speaking.

Sabi Became A Member of “The Bangz” Girl Group

In 2009, Sabi began her career as a professional musician after being contacted by The Co-Stars’ production team. They wanted to introduce a female pair at the moment.

She eventually signed with Warner Bros., Asylum Records, and the independent record label VNR, where she was part of the urban pop trio The Bangz, which also included Kortney Ann Elliott.

Two songs, “Boys With Tattoos (We Jerkin’)” and “Found My Swag, featuring New Boyz,” were released by the band. With over a million views on YouTube, both of the songs were enormously popular, gaining the band both national recognition and MTV exposure.

Unfortunately, Ella Ann’s injuries in a vehicle accident put an end to Sabi’s voyage with her bandmate. But because of her drive and excitement for her job, Warner Bros. Records extended an invitation for her to pursue a solo career.
