At the age of 15, Kerr signed with Perth Glory, where she played from 2008 until 2012 before switching to Sydney FC. In 2013, she became a member of the Western New York Flash and assisted the team in winning the NWSL Shield. She then played for Sky Blue FC and the Chicago Red Stars in the same division.

After receiving numerous offers from clubs like Olympique Lyonnais, Kerr finally signed with Chelsea in 2019.
