In September of that year, the lady suffered severe injuries to her arm and leg. Unfortunately, she lost an arm and a leg as a result of the accident. Sarah was roughly 40% incapacitated following the accident. However, the courageous lady considers herself fortunate for her survival and grateful for a second chance at life.
She declares, after surviving a horrifying fall and being crushed by tube trains, “I am not going to die here.” Fortunately, her healing process was swift, and she recovered quickly. Perhaps Lagarde’s great mental fortitude aided her recuperation. The lady wants to return home and is gathering funds for a futuristic robotic limb.

When she returned to her husband and children two months after the disaster, the Camden native was on an emotional rollercoaster. The mother was looking forward to seeing her family for Christmas and considered her second life to be the nicest present ever.Lagarde says:
I am fortunate to have survived the disaster. I’m going to battle my way back to see my spouse and kids.
The good news is that I am recuperating well and will be returning home in two months to see them. I’ve been gone from them for the longest time.
Mrs. de Lagarde also learnt to stand after being in a wheelchair for a month. She has a prosthetic leg and is saving money for a futuristic bionic arm.
