James Hunt, the racing sensation, is probably only unknown to a small number of people. Back in the day, James made headlines for a variety of reasons, including his relationship controversies and his rivalry with Niki Lauda, which was even depicted in the 2013 movie “Rush.”
James Hunt remarried the late Sarah Lomax after a brief union with Suzy Miller.

As sweet as it may sound, James Hunt and Sarah Lomax met while on vacation in Spain. Soon after relocating to Wimbledon, Sarah and her friends had also been to Spain. After returning to England, Sarah and James began dating. On December 17, 1983, they were married.
The fact that James was late for his wedding and that it took longer than expected because his brother had to go to the store to get a tie is funny in and of itself.
James Hunt and Sarah Hunt were wed for six years, from 1983 to 1989. Tom Hunt and Freddie Hunt, their two sons, were born during their marriage. The youngest of the two, Freddie, adopted his father’s profession as a race driver. Freddie couldn’t spend much time with his father, but he was a huge influence on him.
Separated Following a six-year marriage
Due to James Hunt’s history of womanizing and adultery, Sarah Hunt filed for divorce from him in 1988. Over 5000 women are claimed to have had sexual interactions with Hunt during his lifetime. James’ advances were too much for Sarah to handle. Huge libido, which made him too much for Sarah to bear in terms of both physical and mental stress.
James and Sarah kept their home together even after they split up for the benefit of their kids. This did not last long, either, as Hunt’s adultery led to the couple’s divorce in November. After a brief separation from Sarah, he passed away on September 15, 1993, from a heart attack at the age of 45.
After her divorce, Sarah lived by herself for a while. She wed Christopher Edward Jeffery, her second husband, in November 1997. He was a separate army officer who was then residing in the Nepalese Himalayas. This required Sarah to divide her time between Hampshire and Nepal.
Charlie Jefferey, the son of Sarah and Chris, was born in 1999. As if a bad omen had followed Sarah, her husband Chris passed away the same year during Charlie’s christening due to a heart attack while their child was just a few months old. For the rest of her life, Sarah took care of her three sons as a widow.
Sarah Lomax’s Tragic Demise
2012 saw the unfortunate diagnosis of cancer for Sarah Lomax. She was a bold woman who even brought her two boys, Tom and Freddie, to the Rush red carpet premiere in 2013. Additionally, she talked about some of the complexities in her marriage to James.
She endured chemotherapy, but she clung to life with the courage and resilience her three wonderful boys and husbands had instilled in her. Sarah passed away in 2014 despite all of these efforts, leaving behind a lovely legacy and story.
