The reaction of his family to the news has been detailed by Sarah Spiers’ father. Bradley Robert Edwards was taken into custody and charged with two homicides.
Don Spiers asserted that they had been warned and were in frequent communication with the task force. Ms. Spiers was the first of three women who were reportedly abducted from Claremont in the 1990s.
The bodies of Jane Rimmer, 23, and Ciara Glennon, 27, were dumped in a woodland. Ms. Spiers, who was 18 at the time of her disappearance from a Perth neighborhood, has never been found.
The death of Ms. Spiers is still the subject of ongoing investigations, according to the police. Let’s read the text to find out more about Sarah Spiers’ parents.
Who Are the Parents of Sarah Spiers?
Father Carol Spiers and mother Una Glennon are Sarah Spiers’ parents. The father of a woman who went missing in the 1990s broke his silence after Bradley Robert Edwards was arrested and charged with the suspected murder of two individuals in the Claremont cold case.
According to Perth Now, Sarah Spiers, who was 18 at the time and a Police suspect, was the first of three women who were abducted from the Perth area in the 1990s.
In a video posted on Facebook on Friday, Don Spiers stated that Police are telling their family about the case.
Mr. Glennon also took use of the opportunity to strongly criticize certain media coverage of his daughter’s death during a sad news conference at the WA Police headquarters.
The majority of the tragic setbacks his family had experienced over the years, he claimed, were due to the media’s callous and inaccurate reporting of the issue, “which serve little or no legitimate public interest value or purpose.”
Details Regarding This Case
Bradley Robert Edwards was convicted by Justice Stephen Hall of killing Ciara Glennon, 27, and Jane Rimmer, 23, but not guilty of killing Sarah Spiers, an 18-year-old secretary.
All three ladies vanished between 1996 and 1997 while enjoying themselves on evenings out in the wealthy Perth suburb of Claremont.
While Ciara and Jane’s remains were finally located in a remote region outside of the city, Sarah’s remains have never been found.
Justice Hall determined that the prosecution had failed to prove Sarah’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt because her case lacked the forensic evidence—most significantly, the DNA and fibers—that linked the former Telstra technician to the first two women.
Instead, the family of Sarah Spiers must accept the judge’s statement that Bradley Edwards was the “probable killer” as a bittersweet admission.
The 51-year-old will be sentenced in December for the two murders as well as the 1995 rape of another adolescent in Karrakatta Cemetery and an earlier attack on a child in Huntingdale. Right now, Sarah’s case is still open.
