He played Marvin in the TV series “Room 222” from 1972 to 1973. Following these performances, he was cast as a guest star on several TV shows, including Ironside, Phyllis, The Streets of San Francisco, Baretta, Charlie’s Angels, and Black Sheep Squadron, to mention a few.
He had recurring roles on the sitcom Sons & Daughters in 1974 and the soap opera spoof Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman in 1976.

Two years later, he played Brian Schwartz in the sex comedy Porkies. Despite negative reviews, the film was a big success in the United States, grossing more than $100 million. Colomby later played the same character in the film’s two less successful sequels, Porky’s II: The Next Day and Porky’s Revenge!
