He was raised in the Embry Hills neighborhood of DeKalb County and attended Warren Elementary and Henderson High School for his early education.

The most frequent recollection of Scott’s formative years is of him driving about town in his red pickup truck. The Officer then relocated to Gwinnett County because he cherished God, his country, and his family.

He is survived by his 22-year wife Elana Chessor Riner, their children Madison Parker (Joshua) and Taylor Sparacino (Mallory).

Yahya Abdulkadir, the murderer of a Gwinnett County police officer, is where? Arrest and Accusation

The person suspected of being behind the shooting death of correctional officer Scott Riner earlier this week has been taken into custody by Gwinnett County Police.

On Friday, December 16, Yahya Abdulkadir, 22, was apprehended and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.

Around 1:30 pm, SWAT personnel reportedly made a non-violent arrest of the 22-year-old at the Black Dot community center off Main Street in Lithonia.

In the hopes that someone would recognize him and alert the police, investigators released a picture of the suspect taken from security footage that showed the man’s face.

According to them, Abdulkadir was the individual captured on camera. Gwinnett County Police Sgt. Jennifer Richter stated, “We think he is the same person we have seen.

They add that prior to the arrest, the crew had been following him for a number of hours.

On December 13, at roughly 6:30 am, an officer named Officer Riner was shot outside the Gwinnett County Correctional Center on Hi Hope Road.

According to investigators, Abdulkadir and Riner had a fight before Abdulkadir shot Riner and left the scene.

According to the police, Riner’s coworkers discovered him wounded in the parking lot. The reason for the fatal shooting is unclear to them.

According to Sgt. Richter, “It does not appear that the officer and Mr. Abdulkadir knew each other, but as we further investigate, that could change.”

Investigators think Abdulkadir committed the murder by himself. They believe that the culprit’s capture will bring solace to Riner’s family.

Detectives have been working nonstop to solve this, according to Sgt. Richter. Riner has spent more than ten years working in the prison.
