Sean was born in Houston, Texas, in October 1962. Jesse Wayne Swayze, his father, worked as an engineering draftsman. The cause of his death was alcoholism in 1982. In a similar vein, his mother Patsy Yvonne Helen Swayze, a dancer, choreographer for motion pictures, and dance instructor, passed away in her Simi Valley home in 2013 following a stroke.
