Written in the Stars, a new dating program on Discovery+ that matches individuals based on their birth charts will soon air. The debut of the program’s first season will occur on November 27, 2022, at 3 a.m. EST. Written in the Stars’ plot summary is as follows:
Written in the Stars is a new reality/dating series that places the contestants’ love lives in the hands of the world’s top astrologers.
In this sociological experiment, twelve single strangers will each symbolize one of the zodiac’s twelve signs. These strangers will travel to Greece with the guidance of astrological experts to find love.
Written in the Stars Season 1 follows 12 strangers as they search for love
On Written in the Stars, 12 single strangers in search of love will travel to a villa in Porto Heli, Greece, only to learn that they have been partnered with someone based on their birth chart.
The program will air ten episodes that are “emotionally charged.” VICE describes Written in the Stars as “Love Island meets Married At First Sight, but with horoscopes.”
Clara Amfo, a DJ and presenter for BBC Radio 1, will host the premiere season of the program. Clara informed POPSUGAR about her upcoming performance:
“I recall thinking to myself that this was the perfect dating show for me. I believe in astrology because it has grown so pervasive in our culture. I once heard that Jennifer Lopez had a dancing audition in which no Virgos were permitted. Yet, I doubt I would go that far!”
Written In The Stars, in Clara’s opinion, is the right solution for modern dating, in which “we’ve become a commodity.” She also believes that because people have lost their “patience” to form meaningful relationships, the program may provide them renewed hope of finding love.
Amfo believes that the program is running at the appropriate time since “astrology is more accepted in society now than it was six or seven years ago.”
Michele Knight, Francesca Oddie, and Colin Bedell, three astrologers specializing in birth charts and astrology, will pair the singles based only on their natal charts. Michele Knight takes astrology seriously, and the concept of the show is not a gimmick. She informed Vice:
She continues,
“I grew raised in a great family since my mother was clairvoyant.” It transformed, altered, and ultimately saved my life. I had a truly terrible upbringing, and I am positive that astrology had a significant role. My birth certificate was the absence of my parents – it is that significant.”
Several tasks will be administered to measure the candidates’ compatibility. Once paired, the six couples will live together for a lunar cycle (around 29.5 days). No participants will be eliminated from the program.
Similarly, the program will not have victors or losers. But, competitors may withdraw from the program if they are unable to connect with their partners or if they are replaced.
