The second season of Secret Celebrity Renovation will be hosted by Nischelle Turner of Entertainment Tonight, and she will help famous people make a great gesture by offering a surprise makeover to the homes of people who have assisted them in rising to prominence.
Turner is a New York-based correspondent for CNN Entertainment and New Day. She started working for the network in 2011, was hired as an Entertainment Tonight reporter in 2014, and was given the co-host position in 2021. The 46-year-old broadcaster and journalist has already won four Emmy Awards.
The 49th Daytime Emmy Awards were co-hosted by the Secret Celebrity Renovation host and Kevin Fraizer this year. On July 22, 2022, at 8 p.m. ET, Secret Celebrity Renovation Season 2 will make its CBS debut. Rob Mariano and Sabrina Soto, an interior designer, will appear with Turner this season.
Nischelle Turner details her upbringing, career, and achievements
Turner was reared by her mother and her extended family when she was born on February 11, 1975, in Columbia, Missouri. Both her elementary and secondary education were completed at Rock Bridge Elementary.
She left the University of Kentucky in her junior year to pursue a career in journalism, and she earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and broadcast media news from the University of Missouri in 1998. Turner’s first job was as a substitute anchor and reporter for WEHT, an Indiana-based ABC station.
Career
She started working for WVUE-TV FOX8 in New Orleans in 2002 as a daily reporter and weekend anchor. In 2004, Nischelle moved to Los Angeles and started working for KTTV. She was a reporter for Good Day LA on KTTV as well as an anchor for Good Day LA Weekend.
After Good Day LA, Turner went back to New Orleans to report on Hurricane Katrina, for which she won numerous journalism awards. In addition to covering baseball and basketball, the Secret Celebrity Renovation host started serving as a sideline reporter for Fox NFL Sunday in 2007.
After working for Fox for two years, she joined Essence in 2009 to show Extra, an online entertainment program that focuses on Hollywood’s biggest stars. Her position as a broadcaster gave her access to several entertainment-related opportunities, ultimately catapulting her to the red carpet.
Nischelle Turner’s work so impressed CNN network president Jeff Zucker that he offered her a full-time position as an entertainment correspondent and even gave Turner her own program in New York in 2011.
She became well-known while working at CNN thanks to the way she covered Whitney Houston’s passing. When Entertainment Tonight offered her a job on the other side of the country in 2014, Jeff Zucker suggested that she do both programs. She agreed and started working for Entertainment Tonight full-time while simultaneously making contributions to CNN’s entertainment shows.
In the 40-year history of the program, Turner is the first woman of color to be selected as a co-host. Additionally, this is the first time that people of color, such as Nischelle Turner and Kevin Frazier, have served as the show’s sole hosts.
Together with Shaquille O’Neal, Turner currently co-hosts a podcast called The Big Podcast. She actively encourages diversity in the workplace so that young people, especially those of color, may see someone who resembles them on-screen.
Everything we currently know about the forthcoming season of Secret Celebrity Renovation Nischelle Turner will serve as the show’s host when it returns to the CBS network on July 22. Boston Rob, a celebrity in Season 1, will join Sabrina Soto on her squad for the second time.
This season, a number of famous people will refurbish their homes in secret and surprise their loved ones, including Shaquille O’Neal, Nathan Chen, Debbie Gibson, and Kandi Burruss. Season 2 of Secret Celebrity Renovation will feature appearances from Nicole Scherzinger, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Billy Gardell, Annaleigh Ashford, Devin Booker, and Aaron Donald.
