Ron MacFarlane, the father of comedian Seth MacFarlane, is a talented and formerly quite well-known folk performer.

Even when Johnny Carson was hosting The Tonight Show in the 1970s, Ron was requested to make an appearance. Because Seth was one of the featured audience members when he came on the show in 2015, he ended up on The Tonight Show.

Seth questioned the veracity of the rumor that his father nearly appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s contemporary version of The Tonight Show. As it happened, it was. Ironically, the father turned down an invitation to visit the studio where his son was filming an interview because he didn’t want to give in to the man.
Jimmy asked the famous actor about his father’s parenting style while they were on the subject, which unintentionally caused Seth to recall a memorable event from his youth. Seth started his account of his parents sitting him down and saying,
You’ll probably want to take medications, which is only natural… and all we want is that you carry it out in front of us, in this house.
The entire time, his father was motioning for him to keep quiet from his place in the crowd. Seth disregarded the alert. He kept talking. Seth reasoned that his parents were trying to rid him of the temptation of drug use.
The musician asked Ron if there had ever been any drugs in the house when he was a child, but Ron was unable to respond. There you have it, then! Whatever the plan, Seth insisted that the parenting style was sensible.

At least, it worked up until he made the decision to try the cannabis much later in life. At the time, he was 28. He also acknowledged that he and his dad had used marijuana to celebrate Thanksgiving. Seth and his sister questioned whether their parents would smoke marijuana if they brought it into the house “in this current period.” Surprise! They would carry it out!
The whole family shared one stone. Seth recalled what his father had said to him:
It was a heartfelt period in their relationship, according to Seth. The bond between the father and son is strong. Ron will turn 76 in March 2021, but he is now 75 years old.
