Seth was a respected friend and confidant because of his genuine character and caring manner, which shined through whether he was riding bulls or talking to others.

Raylene, Seth’s mother, received a phone call from a friend at the Chiniki Rodeo Grounds, where her son was killed.

Seth’s grandpa Marcel was a pivotal person in his life, and he revealed the tragic events of his last days.

Saulteaux, Bull Rider, 19 Years Old, Killed After Suffering an Injury

The death of Seth Saulteaux, a 19-year-old Indigenous bull rider from Maskwacis, Alberta, has devastated the rodeo community.

Seth’s life was cut tragically short when he was injured in the head while competing in a bull riding event at the Chiniki rodeo grounds outside of Calgary.

Seth had on safety equipment, yet he nevertheless had a fatal collapse after his ride and unfortunately passed away.

The loss of Seth, despite prompt medical assistance, has devastated his family and the rodeo community.

Stoney Nakoda’s emergency services spokesman, Reg Fountain, described the anguish and disbelief that Seth’s family and friends felt upon seeing the tragedy.

Those who knew Seth and saw his potential and the bright future he held mourn his untimely death, even though he was not a member of the Stoney Nakoda community.

The rodeo was a preliminary event for the INFR (Indian National Finals Rodeo). Commissioner Eugene Creighton vouched for Seth’s riding skills and responsible behavior.

Although this event was not sanctioned by the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA), the organization nonetheless felt compelled to express its sympathies to Seth’s loved ones and acknowledge the tremendous loss felt by everybody.
