On March 18, 2022, it was revealed that Nick Jonas would take Shaquille O’Neal’s spot on NBC’s upcoming dance competition Dancing With Myself. According to reports, the NBA Hall of Fame left the performance because of set-up-related technical difficulties and difficulties with a complex stage design.
The judges for the competition were announced earlier this month when Shakira, presenter Camille Kostek, and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal joined YouTuber Liza Koshy on the final panel. The dates for the following rehearsals have been pushed back a few days due to the addition of Nick Jonas.

On Dancing With Myself, contestants must receive three judges’ favorites in order to move on. The following is the official show synopsis:
Candidates are given a limited amount of time in their individual pods to learn the new routines, add their own flair, and then perform their hearts out in front of a live studio audience.
The show’s renowned producers will create and perform exhilarating dance routines for a crowd of regular people each week. Following then, each round will need the candidates to complete the duties as efficiently as possible.
Following the conclusion of each round, the panel of judges will provide brief observations and select their favorites, together with the audience, to continue the program. The winner of the night will, however, be decided in large part by the studio audience.
For Universal Television Alternative Studios and Irwin Entertainment, the show is produced by John Irwin, Dave Kuba, and Eli Frankel with executive producers Tina Nicotera Bachman, Ben Thursby-Palmer, Jaime Levine, and Shakira.
Which show was Nick Jonas most recently a judge on?
The 29-year-old vocal prodigy was a fan-favorite coach/judge on NBC’s The Voice’s Season 18. The singer, however, withdrew from Season 19 only to make a comeback in Season 20. Regarding Jonas’ appearances on and off The Voice, there were no explanations. On Dancing With Myself, the singer will be a judge.
