Shauna Redford was born in the United States of America on November 15, 1960. She is a painter, but she is arguably best known as the daughter of retired actor Robert Redford. Her father rose to prominence in the 1960s and had a successful career full of film hits from the ’60s to the early-2010s.

Shauna Redford’s Wealth

Shauna Redford’s net worth is expected to be more than $2 million as of early 2020, owing to a successful profession as a painter. While many expected her to follow in her father’s footsteps, she chose to forge her own path, pursuing her passion for visual arts, which she excelled at and helped her achieve fortune.

She most likely benefits from her father’s success as well, as Robert has an estimated net worth of more than $170 million as a result of a long and successful career in the film industry.

Childhood

Shauna Redford is Robert’s first wife, historian Lola Van Wagenen’s, daughter. They were married from 1958 until 1985 and had three children before separating. Her father’s money provided her with a lot of luxury, but life was pretty normal since the children were kept out of the spotlight and allowed to pursue their own aspirations.

They had four siblings, but the youngest, Scott, died when he was only three months old from sudden infant death syndrome. The syndrome is, as the name suggests, the sudden death of a baby with no explanation; the cause has yet to be found, but it occurs infrequently. Shauna eventually acquired a liking for the arts, particularly painting, which she pursued during her education.

School and Profession

While Shauna avoided media exposure, when she became entangled in a murder case at college, many eyes were drawn to her.

The victim was her undergraduate boyfriend, Sid Wells, with whom she was classmates at the University of Colorado. They had been dating for three years until he was found dead in 1983, shot in the head at his home, a condominium near the university, by his brother, who became a murder suspect for some time. The case is still unclear, however, many believe his roommate was the one who pulled the trigger. However, due to a lack of evidence, the police were unable to charge him. Shauna was bereaved for a long time and was unable to function effectively, including studying, and eventually dropped out of college.

She and her father made an appearance at Wells’ funeral. She was finally able to move on and concentrate on her painting profession. She’s had some success, albeit the media doesn’t pay as much attention to her as it does to her father. She continues to appear in public, but her profile has dwindled, particularly since her father retired.

Parent

Robert Redford, the son of an accountant, was born in 1936 in Santa Monica, California, where he grew up. His parents later divorced, and his father remarried, thus he grew up with a stepmother. He stayed with his father when they relocated to Van Nuys, where he struggled in academics, preferring anything to do with sports or the arts.

Despite graduating from high school, he enrolled at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he also worked briefly at one of the campus restaurants. However, he was expelled from school owing to his drinking problems.

In the years that followed, he traveled across Europe, learning more about culture as he tried to find his way. When he returned to the United States, he studied painting before discovering acting and enrolling in classes at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. In the 1960s, he began his theater career as a supporting actor in various Broadway productions.

In 1963, he received considerable acclaim for his performance in “Barefoot with the Park,” which paved the way for television parts – some of his work during this time period includes “Perry Mason,” “The Untouchables,” “Alfred Hitchcock Presents,” and “The Twilight Zone.”

Robert Redford’s Success

In 1962, Redford made his film debut in “War Hunt,” and three years later, he appeared in “Inside Daisy Clover,” which established him as a film star, winning the Golden Globe Award for Best New Star and launching a string of successful films. He broke through and gained international popularity in 1969 as a co-star in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” alongside Paul Newman.

Other significant films on which he worked include “Jeremiah Johnson,” “The Way We Were,” and “All the President’s Men,” in which he played one of his most famous parts.

Many consider his greatest successful picture to be “The Sting,” which he co-starred in with Paul Newman and Robert Shaw and won ten Academy Awards and is regarded as one of the best films of all time. In 1980, he made his directorial debut with “Ordinary People,” which won four Academy Awards, establishing him as not just a great actor but also a celebrity filmmaker.

He has received multiple honors for his work as a director, including “Brubaker,” “Out of Africa,” “A River Runs Through It,” and “Quiz Show.” He has been called one of the world’s most important persons, and he has inspired many actors and filmmakers who, like him, began their careers with independent films.

Personal Existence

Shauna Redford later met and began a relationship with author, educator, and producer Eric Schlosser. He is well-known for his contributions to the book “Fast Food Nation.” They were married in 1985 and have two children. Though she has remained out of the spotlight, her family frequently posts a few images online. Despite the fact that her parents live quite different lives, she remains close to both of them. She doesn’t have any public web accounts to avoid unwanted attention.
