Shawn Caminiti Pyfrom (born August 16, 1986) is an American actor best known for his role on ABC’s Desperate Housewives as Andrew Van de Kamp. Pyfrom was born in Florida and is descended from English, Dutch, Italian, Welsh, Hungarian, French, and Irish ancestors.
Shawn appeared in the films The Darkroom in 2007 and The Shaggy Dog in 2009. In 2013, he also appeared in the film Killing Lincoln. Andi Elloway, on the other hand, is a photographer.
Who Is the Luckiest? Is Pyfrom a gay man?
Despite numerous opinions about his sexuality, the actor, 34, is not gay. However, Pyfrom’s character had an intimate moment with another boy, leading fans to believe that the character was gay, raising questions about his sexuality in real life.
Yet, when he stated that his character is not gay, the actor dispelled all rumors about himself and his character. However, he did later hint that this character Andrew was bisexual. When asked about his character’s sexuality again, he replied-
“At this point, I really don’t know.
He did, after all, make that statement [that he is bisexual].
However, I believe he is more gay than straight.”
While this was not enough to convince fans that his character was not gay, the scenes shared and his relationship with men in the show do undermine his claim. His hesitation caused fans to question his sexuality, but according to his past dating history, he never had a boyfriend.
So we can’t be sure about his sexuality, but he could be straight based on his previous dating experiences.
A few years ago, the American actor made his dating life public. His first relationship lasted two years with Elyanna Reyes, and his second lasted less than a year with Lauren Conard. His relationship with Andi Elloway was also in the works after the actress shared Instagram photos with him.
Even though it’s difficult to believe that this charming gentleman hasn’t been dating, no linkups have been heard in over a decade.
The 47-year-old appears to be single because he has been quiet about his dating life for many years.
His Life’s Difficulties
Behind all of the smiles in his pictures, the 34-year-old has had a difficult past. Following the heartbreaking news of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s death from an overdose, the actor came forward to discuss his struggles with the substance.
Shawn Pyform admitted that he struggled with addiction and “lived for drugs.” He shared a heartfelt blog about how difficult it was for him to write the blog and how he had to reconsider publishing it.
Shawn Pyform claims that sharing this will help more people understand his addiction and give them the strength to deal with it. The 34-year-old delves deeply into his problems and writes,
“I am a drug addict.”
And I’ve never been prouder to say it.
Because when I consider where I’ve been and where I am now…
I am proud of the man who has addressed and admitted to himself what was previously veiled denial.”
The actor also revealed that he had been sober for five months and was celebrating his accomplishment.
“Considering how long I’ve been an addict, I’m still relatively new to being sober.”
While it may have been difficult for the actor to break the news, we applaud Pyform. We’re sure his act inspired many people and continues to do so to this day.
