Shonda Rhimes developed, wrote, and produced the television medical dramas Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice as well as the political thriller Scandal.
For the ABC television programs Off the Map, How to Get Away with Murder, The Catch, and the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Station 19, Rhimes served as executive producer.
Rhimes was included in Time magazine’s annual list of the 100 individuals who have the greatest effect on the world in 2007, 2013, and 2021.
Following the signing of a multi-year development agreement between Rhimes and Netflix in 2017, all of her next productions will be Netflix Original shows.

Speaking about Shonda Rhimes Illness, she feels that being the center of controversy is the only thing worse than losing weight.
In a message she sent last week to Shondaland subscribers, Rhimes said that it took her shedding over 150 pounds before people began to view her as “valuable.”
The Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy creator dropped weight around two years ago, but she remains surprised and dismayed by how others, even complete strangers, reacted to her transformation.
Recognize that Rhimes continues to have a problem against #cleanliving. She hated having to work so hard to lose so much weight.
“Losing weight is not a topic I like to address,” she explains. Why? Because it is devoid of all qualities of enjoyment, fascination, and magnificence.
I would not say that I enjoyed dieting. I wouldn’t say I enjoyed it nonstop. Additionally, I hate every second I spend attempting to lose weight.
Rhimes hated how losing weight made people behave differently around her. But what was worse than shedding pounds?
