As part of the inquiry, Tasmania Police released CCTV footage that showed three cars spotted on the day Shyanne-Lee disappeared, driving toward the city near Henry Street. With reference to the case of Shyanne-Lee Tantell, who went missing on April 30, a major search is currently taking place across Tasmania as of July 26, 2023, in an attempt to find the 14-year-old girl. At present, the search is focused on a large wilderness area northeast of Launceston, near Nabowla, covering roughly fifty square kilometers. About 160 police officers and personnel of the State Emergency Service (SES) are actively participating in the search, as well as a trained cadaver dog from the New South Wales Police.
This is now the biggest police search that has ever taken place in Tasmania’s north.
