Ed Sheeran was spotted filming a new music video on the Suffolk coast. The singer, who was born and raised in Framlingham, was seen with a group of people on North Denes beach in Lowestoft.
People flocked to see the celebrity who announced on social media that he was filming a video for his upcoming album, which would be released in 2019.
One onlooker remarked that it was “wonderful to see him” there, and he had been more than eager to take their pictures.
Sheeran expressed him “over the moon” reaction to Shivers, the third single from his fourth studio album = (pronounced equals), reaching one billion Spotify streams, making it his eleventh song as an artist and fifteenth as a songwriter to do so.
He thanked his 40 million followers for streaming the song, saying,
“Thank you everyone.”
“To commemorate, I’m going to film a music video for my brand-new album, which will be released in 2019.”
It was “simply incredible to see him,” according to Lowestoft resident Louise Addy, who visited the location at the foot of Links Hill.
“There were quite a few of us down there, so he organized us into groups and took pictures of us using people’s phones. He was graciously trying to take as many images [for us] as he could.
It was amazing to see him and be close, despite the cold and wind.
Jodie Scott, a local as well, visited the beach due to seeing pictures on social media.
She said,
“It’s one of those times you say, ‘Why not go and see?'”
I regret not having had the opportunity to meet him in person, but it was exciting to learn that he was filming his future music video in our community.
Derek Wallin, a different bystander, said: “Even though it was chilly and windy, it was worthwhile to see what was being filmed.
“You could see right away that it was Ed, and I’m sure it scared him to watch me climb the ladder.”
The Manifest’s Nathan Adams claimed that the musician was “extremely busy,” yet despite this, he managed to get a selfie with Sheeran and have his guitar signed.
Sheeran’s fourth studio album, which continues the trend of his albums being given mathematical symbol names, was released in October 2021, four years after his album.
For the third season in a row, an Ipswich Town supporter is sponsoring the team’s jerseys, which include five symbols +-=x on the front.
The singer is frequently observed in East Anglia, and he was recently seen in Ipswich performing on the spot.
