Fans of 90 Day Fiancé first met Elizabeth “Libby” Potthast and Andrei Castravet in season 5. Andrei is from Moldova, a little nation in Eastern Europe that borders Romania and Ukraine.
While Libby was in Dublin, the couple became romantically involved. After getting married in Florida in October 2017, the couple will wed in Moldova in September 2020.
Due to her siblings’ disapproval of Andrei, particularly her sisters, their marriage has not always been happy sailing.
The youngest of six kids is Libby. Her brother Charlie Potthast, sisters Rebeckah “Becky” Lichtwerch and Jennifer “Jenn” Potthast, and other family members frequently appear on the program.
She has two elder brothers as well, however they are not featured on the reality show.
Fans ponder if Becky and Jenn’s extreme suspicion of Andrei stems from real worry or a hidden agenda.
They haven’t been apprehensive about expressing their worry about their brother-in-law.
Elizabeth Potthast’s sisters dislike her Husband
The fact that Libby’s siblings believe her husband is angling for favors from their father, Chuck Potthast, is one of the main reasons they don’t like him.
Libby’s siblings were dismayed to find that the extravagant celebration, which their father had paid for, had occurred at the couple’s wedding in Moldova. Charlie’s insensitive remarks to his brother-in-law during a drunken haze caused the celebration to take a dramatic and embarrassing turn.
He [Libby’s father] needs to stop footing the bill for y’all crap. Charlie responded, “Don’t come to America and attempt to live off my dad,” which prompted Andrei to slyly warn Libby that he was going to beat up her brother.
Before Libby’s dad intervened, there was almost a fight. This was only one of the numerous dramatic events that were shown in the reality show.
In a different episode, Jen and Becky talk about Andrei’s joblessness and his objection to their involvement in his and Libby’s lives.
“Andrei is aware that he doesn’t want the family to be so involved in you rearing a child, but you are dependent on your father for support. Therefore, they will be involved if you depend on them for money, stated Becky.
Elizabeth Potthast is not permitted to ask her sisters for assistance by Andrei Castravet. Jen noted that now that they were expecting a kid, Libby’s husband needs to step up. And when he did, Jen and Becky were furious rather than happy.
Andrei had been offered a position with the family business by their father, but he turned it down and established their house-flipping firm instead. He was adamant that they wouldn’t need the support of Libby’s family to succeed.
The 90 Day Fiancé star recommended calling her sisters to ask for guidance in one of the episodes while the couple was looking for paint for a home renovation.
However, her husband put a stop to their refusal to accept Jen and Becky’s assistance because he believed her siblings were envious of him.
He emphasized that they would complete the job on their own and that it was their project. It appears that Andrei intended to show his in-laws how misinformed they were about him.
